Happy Easter

Happy Easter weekend, all! Right now I am fluffing the house, excitedly awaiting the arrival of our son and daughter to celebrate both the holiday and our daughter’s acceptance to NYU / Tisch School of the Arts. It is a dream come true for her and we could not be happier.

These antique English Derby plates make my heart so happy! Especially when paired with the custom blue plaid Jill Rosenwald plates I had made almost a decade ago. The silver belonged to my mother. I miss her terribly every day, but especially on this holiday, which we both loved. Having something of hers on the table makes me feel she is with us.

I love these vintage Alberto Pinto placemats because the embroidered, variegated green leaves magically coordinate with most settings. The charming little dishes—handpainted with carrots and garden insects—were picked up on an unforgettable anniversary trip to Blackberry Farm. This table (from a few years ago when the dining room was still navy and before I was editor in chief of Forest & Bluff) coordinates with the children’s table I created for my last post with Merriment Design. The china and linens are different but complementary, and I used the same silver, glasses from M on the Square, and daffodils which creates a cohesive room.

The centerpiece for the “grown-up” table was made from simple market flowers—hydrangea and freesia—in my favorite green and yellow palette, and assembled by the wildly talented interior designer and my dear friend Cynthia McCullough of Cynthia McCullough Interiors.

Cheers to a beautiful weekend!
